Mint Syrup

Yield: 2 Cups

Mint syrup is a wonderful thing to have on hand in the summer months--it makes throwing together cooling sodas, teas, and cocktails quick and easy. Plus, mint syrup is a snap to make. If you can boil water, you can make this syrup! With this in your fridge, mint juelps and mojitos are never more than minutes away.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 oz. fresh mint

Directions

  1. Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium-high heat and bring to a boil.
  2. Remove syrup from heat and add mint (stems and all); muddle and let steep overnight.
  3. Strain syrup through a mesh sieve. Syrup will keep in the refrigerator for up to one month.
